For a good cause!

Every now and then I get requests to participate in these training charity event, that are becoming more and more frequent these days (which is awesome) – but since I work almost every weekend – and get booked pretty far in advance it’s sometimes a challenge to get it on the schedule.

I do give money to different organizations that matters to me – but it would be nice to feel that I’m actually doing something as well – more than that.
So, when the lovely Åsa asked me if I could teach a class at the Young Cancer benefit event she’s hosting in the end of november, it felt great that I actually am in Stockholm that day – and can do it.

So sunday november 25th I’m teaching the brand new BODYBALANCE®59 release.

If you wanna join me – you need to sign up (since it’s a limited amount of spots) by emailing Åsa at asa@vlhalsa.se

You can read more about the event here.
I’m teaching in the afternoon though, 2 pm – 3 pm.
Hope to see you there!

NIKE BLAST 2013!

The coolest – most prestigious – event is back!
I’m talking (writing) about THE NIKE BLAST, of course! A weekend where the best presenters and lecturers in the industry are gathered along with the most dedicated and most awesome participants ever.

The site opens up for registration december 12th!

MUSIC makes the world go round…

I Love lOve loVe lovE LOVE music – I always have.
It’s a major part of my life.
Dance might be my favourite way of expression and emotions – but music is pretty close – they kind of work together and highlight each other, right?
Music can motivate and help you through anything such as a tough run, tiredness, heart break…
And when you’re happy – it can make you even happier, uplifted and just wanting to shake your ass off… Do you agree?

Even the most macho gangsta – and trashy rock dude (or chica) express feelings and emotions through music. Isn’t that awesome?

So – what would the world be like without music?

Imagen having a song personally written for/to you – that would be the best gift ever. (for me)
Like Jay Z’s ‘Glory’ to baby Blue Ivy, or Britney and Justin, by all means, hehe…

Actually – I went to a party once where I met this musician, and apparently I made an impact on her, cause after that I heard that she wrote a song called Åsa’s blues inspired by me being so cool (Yeah – I know?!) unfortunately I’ve never heard it.

Songs I DO wish was written for/to/about me;

As you might notice I’m a bit of a sucker for these smooth r’n’b-tunes!!

Do you have a favorite pep-power-song, or a wishitwaswritten4me-song? Which one?

EGO BOOST :)

I’m repeating the same as Magnus wrote today at his blog.
The brand new november issue of Fitness Magazine is out in stores now.
Not only is it a super fancy cover 😉 but there’s also a multipage series of exercises that I’m showing.

Awesome strenght exercises to tighten up your ass and thighs, to get ready for the ski-season… Yep, I wrote it. SKI-SEASON! Ha!

But, if “getting ready” = being a fierce skier – I do not know. But I think so…
I’m practically a down hill pro now after running through the program a few times.
Or, not! But I did become wonderfully sore after the training sessions.

The exercises are compiled by a really cool trainer. Maybe the best!
(along with David and Toby ;))

So, go buy it now!!
And, it’s obvioulsy a lot of other great stuff to read about as well.

Meaningless knowledge on a sunday…

I’m rarely sick (knock on wood) and when I do get something – it normally passes in a few days.
So, last sunday when I woke up with a sore throat I kind of ignored it with the belief that it would be over just as fast.
I’ve been training, and teaching my classes every day this week – and the sore throat have continued to be sore. And – even more sore…
Yesterday I couldn’t swallow. So, this morning I went to the emergency unit in my hood – to see a doctor. Just in case!

And guess what – the doctor turned out to be my ex boyfriend’s ex girlfriend.
How about that? The girlfriend he had before he and I hooked up.
Their break up was respectful I might add – no cheating, lying or back stabbing – and before I got in the picture.

But still.. it was a bit akward when she asked me to open my mouth, stick my tongue out and say Aaaaahhh… More like; Hhrm-aaaah! Hehe!

She was a great doctor though – and probably the hottest doctor in the city.
And good news, it wasn’t tonsillitis – grateful for that!

My favorite doctors… they can cure almost a n y t h i n g 😉

Werk-Update!

October’s been an usually relaxed month for me.
Besides BEATZ I have actually held a few weekends off – and then the KRAFT convention got cancelled pretty much in the last minute. This have given me opportunity to something I hardly ever do, sub a few classes.

So if you wanna take a few extra classes with me, I’m subbing:
Tomorrow, Saturday – street 12.00 Odenplan. We’ll do the Starships-choreo.
Sunday – core 18.00 also at Odenplan, and then next saturday – BODYBALANCE® 10.00 at St Eriksbron.

From november 1st it’s back to normal again – and I’m working every weekend until x-mas. Check the news-page out (here at my website) if you wanna stay tuned where (and when) I’m at – if you might wanna join me for an event near you.

Film shoot in NYC…

When I was in NYC last month I met my friend, co-worker and fellow Nike Master Trainer Fredrik, who was there with his boyfriend that was on a work mission in NYC.

His boyfriend have a band, and they were there shooting a music video for one of their songs – which is a contribution for Switzerland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013.

They needed a cool NYC-gal in a sequence 😉 so, of course I was in, when they asked.
So in a brief moment you can actually see me lip sync. How about that?
Here’s the result

And if you’re in to german and get how to do it; VOTE!!

New Nike-favs!

Once in a while there comes a pair of ROCKSTAR-pants from Nike.
They always do kick ass clothes, but every now and then there is a model/style that you just instantly fall in love with and never ever wants to take off.

Like the freestyle pants a few years ago for example (that Les Mills International have copied for the Les Mills collection – even with the striped ribbing at waist)

Now there’s a new favorite in the building. And it’s a men’s sweat pants.

467125
I have them in grey and black – and they’re just awesome to do some booty-popin’ in…

They might as well be your new favorite too.

Resurrection of the tiny gal with tremendous feelings…

If I hardly remembered my log in.. then U know it’s been a while.
So, if you’re interested in catching up in the Åsa F-world here’s an update of the past months when I’ve dissed my blog.

BEATZ events.. have happened twice since my last post.
In august – and this past weekend.

Which means that we’ve done BEATZ six times now – and are celebrating 1 year anniversary soon. Yaay!
THANK YOU all wonderful BEATZ-dancers that are joining us and giving your best and everything every time. And thanks Rob for being the best partner ever.

SUPER SATURDAY – the annual super quarterly that Les Mills Nordic throws once a year.
This year in ‘hovet’ and ‘annexet’ since Lady GaGa dominated the actual Globe venue (and how she did it: am-a-zing) This was my fifth time presenting there (I think) and I teamed a BODYJAM® with the fantastic Josh & Dorotka.

A master class filled with emotions and feelings I’d say!

NEW YORK CITY… two weeks in the best city in the world – and most likely also the place where I’m gonna end up when the time is right.

I just love the vibe, the energy, the culture, the open minded-ness (is that a word?!)
Two weeks of great classes, sun & summer, awesome friends and energy boosting was nothing but perfect!

I’ve had time for one initial training module in BODYBALANCE® earlier this fall with a super sweet and humble crew…

And, I have at least two more Les Mills-initials coming up this year… Check out my news-page if you wanna see where and when, and maybe join in.

Right before NYC I did this photo shoot for Fitness Magazine, where I’m showing a series of strengthening exercises compiled by Fitness Magazine’s own rockstar PT, Andreas – that’s probably one of the least pretentious and most knowledgeable trainers in the city.

Stay tuned for the november issue of the magazine.

And also, I’ve got to do another collaboration with Swedebeat, and there’s a brand new hiphop/street CD coming up… compiled by me!

Stay tuned for 2.0

Besides all of this, I’ve dealt with life. Professional and private. Like everybody else.
Ups & downs, rain & sunshine, rainbow-coloured & beige… etc. (You get it, right?! Ha!)

There’ll always be people who doesn’t care about you enough to respect you, or simply like to make up things about you behind your back.
But that’s life and it’s mainly sad for those who feel the need to interfere in yours or mine reality to spice their own poor life up. Not worth to expending energy on.

There are a lot of cool, great, awesome and fierce things and people going on in life.
And, hopefully those not just weighs up – but outshines – the less cool things and people! That’s what I think, at least. That – and in karma! 🙂

Hope to see y’all somewhere, sooner rather than later.

Your worst is someone else’s best!

When I was in high school I went to the dance program – and I guess our school were a bit into contemporary/modern dance,  in our training as well as in our dance history lessons as in the performances we went to see every week.
Since then I’ve loved to see all kinds of contemporary pieces. Some of them are brilliant – some of them are super weird – some of them are both!

Today I had one of the most successful dancers/choreographers on the swedish contemporary scene I’d say – and I’ve seen a lot of her work through the years.

Before class she said; I’ve pulled a hamstring so I’m gonna be super careful and take it really easy in all the forward folds.
During class, her super careful and easy was a lot more flexible then most people in class, with healthy hamstrings.

Which once again made it clear – everything is relative.
My truth isn’t necessary your truth. Especially in yoga.

That’s what I like about it, among other things.
I teach yoga in a gym environment – majority of the participants are not 100% dedicated yogis and yoginis.
But, the past months I’ve seen such a huge improvement in class when it comes to work on its own terms – and work on the level that benefits you at the most.

Self-discovery, understanding and development.
For that, I’m grateful, happy and proud.

Namaste! 🙂
