New Releases…

Earlier this week the new Les Mills-releases arrived, BODYJAM®61 and BODYBALANCE™57.

I’m not gonna start learning them just yet though, it’s still a bit too early to start teaching them. But I checked out the BODYBALANCE™ since one of the Nordic Trainer is on the dvd, presenting.
Arja from Finland.

She did a great job, of course!

It was an entire crew on stage, five presenters. No Jackie this time though.
Since I looked at it quite briefly – I did’t get a real feel for the release, but I liked what I saw. And it was a track 6 bonus track that [music wise] was better than the regular, I think. Good stuff!

It’s a bonus track in the current release (56) as well, for track no 3. How ever – I like the regular one better so I haven’t used it.
How about you, my fellow BODYBALANCE™ instructors? Have you picked up the bonus track?

BODYJAM® – I haven’t seen yet. I’ll most likely save that until I’ve done the initial training in may on the old release.
Yesterday when I was at the Les Mills Nordic main office – I tried to convince Hanna that I could do the new release for the initial training.
Since it’s only two weeks before the first qw – it feels more fair to do the new one. Especially since it’s takes a while to learn the entire choreo when you’re brand new to BODYJAM® and Les Mills.
But she was unwavering in her mind, and I wasn’t allowed.

Well, time to start up this thursday!
Maybe I’ll see you in the jazz-class tonight.

T.S. # 20

I’ll finish this round of the today’s song-series with yet another classic tune (no, it doesn’t have to be THAT old to be a classic in my world)

If you google love song, or make out song – this is what you should find.
Awesome, and timeless!

Bed – J.Holiday
From the album Back of My Lac’ that released 2007

T.S. # 19

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not promoting smoking weed or drinking, or anything similar.
(I’m not one to prohibit either – it’s up to each and everyone what they wanna do)

But I do like this song from late 2011. And I’ve always liked Snoop – obviously!

So therefore, here’s is today’s song!

Young, Wild and Free – Snoop Dogg & Wix Khalifa feat. Bruno Mars

Released on iTunes october 2011.

T.S. # 18

No 18 is about classics.
So therefore, I give you not only one – but TWO today’s songs!
18a & 18b. 🙂
If you did forget about these tunes you can bring them back in to your iPod and get nostalgic all weekend long.

18a

Still D.R.E. – Dr. Dre feat Snoop Dogg
From the album 2001, released in 1999

18b

Naughty Girl – Beyonce
From the album Dangerously In Love, released in 2003

T.S. # 17

I hear a lot of people always complaining on the lack of singing talent in this gorgeous lady.
And, that she doesn’t even really sing the words but more like talking through the songs.

I’m inclined to agree a little bit, even though I like her.
I’v seen her live at a club in NYC, or at least she lip synced live.

How ever – I’ve liked a few of her earlier songs, and she’s obviously got some hits – but she’s definitely no Beyonce in my world (or even close)
Despite that I do like this new track, more than the previous one.
The music loop makes me happy, it feels light and uplifted.
So therefore this will be today’s song # 17!

King Of Hearts – Cassie
Released on iTunes feb 14th 2012

HotMOJO® invitation!

It’s more than two months since I went through the HotMOJO® initial training now, and it’s about two months pretty exact since SATS launched it at Spårvagnshallarna.

It’s still huge buzz around the class at the club. It’s 30 classes per week and almost everyone is full (it’s only 20 spots but still)

Just like in the Les Mills classes you (as an instructor) need to film a class and get it evaluated to recieve the license, which is the final seal of approvement from the educators.

I was thinking,
Instead of dragging a film camera in to a regular class on the schedule, that’s always crowded and people aren’t prepared of it and they might be a bit nervous as it is if they’re new to the class…
I thought I should do an extra class, with a bit less people than usual and invited only – that doesn’t mind showing on camera a little bit.

So – tomorrow, friday april 6th –  I’ll do a special filming class.

If you feel like joining in and start your easter celebrations (unless you start tonight already) with some Hot Yoga practice – send me an email asa@asafornander.com today.
I have a few spots left.

[No it’s not Siri.. and it never will be.]

T.S. # 16

Kind of cool I think!
And Kat is definitely a cool cat; dancer, singer, actress…
She’s starring in the Honey 2 movie. Not an oscar potential movie perhaps, but Honey is a classic, you can’t deny that. 😉

Put Your Graffiti On Me – Kat Graham
Released on iTunes march 26th

Beatz mingle!

I haven’t told you about the BEATZ event this past saturday.
It was A LOT OF FUN!
I love the feel and the energy that the crew bring to these days and it honestly feels like I’m dancing with a whole bunch of happy friends.

I started the day with a musical jazz.
Lena had a request that I listened to this time and I dusted off my All that jazz-routine.
It’s quite simple – but it’s all in the music or lyrics, and it’s also quite long.
Almost 2 minutes. But I like the feel of doing a whole number. And so did they – it seemed.

BEATZ went Chicago and the floor was filled by musical-stars, fo shizzle!

Then we had invited Bianca to come and teach a hiphop-class, which was great! Perfect level for the crowd (as far as I could see) and they looked like they liked it – a lot.
She’s awesome!
I joined in and took the class in the back, and it was a lot of fun!

Then Mr HouseMusic himself, Robert, entered the floor with his house jam-class. People loved his moves and his music.
I took the first half of the class, before I went to change to my stretch outfit, lol!
Cause the last class of the day was a 30 min flexibility & stretch class.
We’ve decided that after three hours of intense dancing it’s kind of good with a real stretch – and we made it like a dance-stretch to great tunes, and hopefully the crew felt a bit recovered after that, and maybe not as sore sunday morning!

At least – that’s our purpose with it.

Enjoy some mingle pics of our amazing BEATZ-dancers!

Many thanks and much love to all of you!
XOXO

T.S. # 15

I can divide my music taste into several categories…
One category with awesome music – that’s good ‘for real’ and that I’ll most likely will stay in love with for the long run.
There’s also one category with songs that’s just super commercial and that I like when it’s brand new – simply cause it is new, fresh and probably real catchy.
Then I use it – in my classes.. cause most people do like it, and listens to it, but then I get fed up just as quick as I liked it.

Today’s song belongs to that later category I’d say.
But right now – it’s happy, new and yes – it’s catchy of shizzle!

Dance Again – Jennifer Lopez feat. Mr WorldWide (Pitbull)

Released on iTunes april 2nd.

Fornandera on youtube!

I have tuns of dvd’s and clips lying around all over, from all kinds of classes and events where I’ve been working.
Yesterday I started to organize it a bit. Not a day to soon. (More like many days to late) Hehe!

I’ve only uploaded a few clips to my Youtube-channel, and there are a lot more to come.
But I’ve also collected some the already existing youtube-clips with me from different working occasions, and created playlists on my channel.

So, if you want to see some of the stuff I’ve done take a look – and I’ll keep updating it.

How about this performance from 2007 that I found in a drawer yesterday.
See how long my hair was back then 😉
