SUMMER BEATZ rocked!

It felt a little bit like a slow summer day when I woke up yesterday – but once I stepped in to our BEATZ location at Mariatorget, Stockholm that changed, fast.

SUMMER BEATZ was on.

As usual we had a great crew of dancers that filled up the dance floor.
It’s been awesome every time we’ve done these events – but yesterday it was like something special flew in the air. Maybe it’s because it’s summer, maybe our crew had some extra energy for breakfast… I don’t know – but we sure had an amazing day!

THANK YOU all for coming!
Thank you for spending your time, energy, sweat and most of your day with us.

Thanks to our guest of the day – Thomas Benstem who taught a kick ass class, and for being so awesome!

Thank you Gainomax for helping us keeping the energy up.

And of course – thanks to my friend and collaborator Robert – for being the best to work with.

First class of the day: latin beatz with Rob

Chillin latinos 🙂

I love speeches – you know that, but yesterday’s speech wasn’t mine…

Presenters of the day…

And, some of the awesome people that joined us for our fourth edition of BEATZ events.

We’ll be back after the summer, fo shizzle.
Stay tuned on the Facebook page.

Summer BEATZ is getting closer!

Saturday it is!!
Summer BEATZ is about the happen.
We’ve still got a few spots left, so if you wanna come you should definitely email beatz@robertsorensen.com ASAP!

He’s in charge of the registration – so email him to make sure you have a spot.

Our guest this time is Thomas Benstem – awesome dancer, choreographer and teacher!
He’ll teach a commercial hiphop; a MTV inspired class with influences from both hiphop and jazz.

He doesn’t teach a lot these days so you don’t wanna miss this opportunity, I’d say!

I teach my AfHo class – which is a Afro House fusion – with small injections from several dance styles.
Robert opens up with his latin dance class – an awesome summer BEATZ class where you can get the party started! And then you get a longer stretch in the end of the day so you’ll leave extended, lean and limber 🙂

Hope to see you saturday!

SUMMER BEATZ!

Saturday june 9th it’s dancing time again.
BEATZ goes summer – and I’d love to see YOU there, dancing with us.

BEATZ = me & Robert, obviously, and the guest this time is non the less than Thomas Benstem.
An awesome dancer, choreographer and teacher. He is not only fierce but also humble, nice and sweet as few.
Don’t miss this opportunity to take his class (or ours, LOL)

The spots usually fills up rather fast – so sign up ASAP if you wanna come!

Alive n kickin…

Since I got back home from the US – it’s been ridiculous. You know – when everything happens at the same time.
Like for example;
I needed to learn the new warm up for HoS – 4 tracks, and also the new BODYBALANCE® release as well as the new BODYJAM® along with the educational sessions for both programs.
Also, it was time to learn the new HotMOJO® release, and finally – I needed to choreograph two new street-routines and start with a new jazz.

None of these things are super hard – it just became a lot, at the same time. Which made me kind of stressed. And I’ve had to really stop myself once in a while to not be to far ahead in my mind, so I miss out the presence.

Past weekend it’s been the first rounds of quarterlies – and I did three of them in Malmö and one in Halmstad.
I’ve had the pleasure to present the new releases to an entire bunch of sweet, talented and awesome instructors in both cities.
In Halmstad something weird happened though. In the relaxation/mediation there was one instructor lying in the front that surfed on her iPhone the entire time. I could see that she was checking her facebook for example.
How about that?! I wonder how she does in her own classes..!

This week – I’ll be teaching all my classes, before I’m heading to the Les Mills European trainer summit in Rome. From there – straight to Estonia and more quarterlies, and then a fast BODYJAM®visit to Göteborg, which ends this qw round.

I hope to see you somewhere in the mingle.
XOXO

SUPER SATURDAY 2012!!

Yes, as you might know the registration opened up this monday for Les Mills annual super quarterly.

Super Saturday will go off september 1st.
If you don’t wanna miss it – you should register, ASAP. The spots are filling up rather quick you know.

It’s a one day Les Mills Parteey along with tribe members from all over the Nordics – and a few traveling even further away from.

I’ll be presenting – and you’ll see me on stage with this hottie…

And this superstar!

I hope to see YOU there!

SATS Nordic Convention!

A brief report from the event of the weekend.

SATS Nordic Convention is an inspirational event for the staff at SATS. A kick off for the entire chain in all the Nordic countries. So it’s not an open event like the Nike Blast for example.

About 2100 of the SATS employed gathered in Göteborg at the Swedish Fair venue for a day of classes, lectures and mingle and an evening/night with even more mingle, dinner with SATS Awards, and party.

SATS chartered a train for the Stockholm crew, that left the central station 5.47 am saturday morning. A train full of track suits, sweatpants and sneakers with other words.

I presented my AfHo class – with the sub theme of Tropical.
AfHo tropical.
It was a lot of fun and I’m happy with the class. I had a lovely crew in the front row filled with both familiar and friendly faces that definitely brought a lot to the party!
Thank You!

Yesterday’s train ride back wasn’t as smoothly though.
We’re supposed to departure at 9.32 – and all of us had entered the train by then.
Arrival time, 13.30!
A bit after 17.30 we rolled up in the capital.
700 pairs of tired sneakers left the central station after the 8 hours train ride.

Here are a few pics from the weekend

From one of the lectures

10 minutes before my class, and people started to gather.

AfHo Tropical (pic borrowed from Fredrik Sjöberg, SATS)

Camilla and Norberto – two of my favorite SATS colleagues.

Angelica, Linn, Mattias and Oscar – all representing SATS Spårvagnshallarna!

The theme of the evening was GOLD.
These guys are golden, fo shizzle!

Party’s coming up!

This week has been a re-run week, at least on my street classes.
Monday I did the I like that-choreo and yesterday I did the Cannibal-choreo.
Both classes were true happiness.
Awesome dancers that brought not only their sexy backs but also a lot of energy and positive vibe to the parteey. Thank you for that. You do know that I love you, right?!

Jazz tonight will be the second week of a new choreo. Come join for some jazz-funk-ish!

This upcoming weekend it’s time for the annual SATS inspiration event, for the entire staff.
It usually take place in february, in Stockholm.
But this year it’s not only a new date – but also a new location. It’s moved to Göteborg (at the swedish fair) and all the nordic countries are joining.

It’s called the SATS Nordic Convention and it will be about 2100 people participating.

I’m asked to present a class, my beloved AfHo with the sub theme “tropical” and I’m expecting some serious ass-shaking, roof-lifting and party-rocking from my awesome co-workers. Yay!

So today – I’m spending the day by doing the last prep and polishing of the choreo and the music for the weekend.

HotMOJO® invitation!

It’s more than two months since I went through the HotMOJO® initial training now, and it’s about two months pretty exact since SATS launched it at Spårvagnshallarna.

It’s still huge buzz around the class at the club. It’s 30 classes per week and almost everyone is full (it’s only 20 spots but still)

Just like in the Les Mills classes you (as an instructor) need to film a class and get it evaluated to recieve the license, which is the final seal of approvement from the educators.

I was thinking,
Instead of dragging a film camera in to a regular class on the schedule, that’s always crowded and people aren’t prepared of it and they might be a bit nervous as it is if they’re new to the class…
I thought I should do an extra class, with a bit less people than usual and invited only – that doesn’t mind showing on camera a little bit.

So – tomorrow, friday april 6th –  I’ll do a special filming class.

If you feel like joining in and start your easter celebrations (unless you start tonight already) with some Hot Yoga practice – send me an email asa@asafornander.com today.
I have a few spots left.

[No it’s not Siri.. and it never will be.]

Beatz mingle!

I haven’t told you about the BEATZ event this past saturday.
It was A LOT OF FUN!
I love the feel and the energy that the crew bring to these days and it honestly feels like I’m dancing with a whole bunch of happy friends.

I started the day with a musical jazz.
Lena had a request that I listened to this time and I dusted off my All that jazz-routine.
It’s quite simple – but it’s all in the music or lyrics, and it’s also quite long.
Almost 2 minutes. But I like the feel of doing a whole number. And so did they – it seemed.

BEATZ went Chicago and the floor was filled by musical-stars, fo shizzle!

Then we had invited Bianca to come and teach a hiphop-class, which was great! Perfect level for the crowd (as far as I could see) and they looked like they liked it – a lot.
She’s awesome!
I joined in and took the class in the back, and it was a lot of fun!

Then Mr HouseMusic himself, Robert, entered the floor with his house jam-class. People loved his moves and his music.
I took the first half of the class, before I went to change to my stretch outfit, lol!
Cause the last class of the day was a 30 min flexibility & stretch class.
We’ve decided that after three hours of intense dancing it’s kind of good with a real stretch – and we made it like a dance-stretch to great tunes, and hopefully the crew felt a bit recovered after that, and maybe not as sore sunday morning!

At least – that’s our purpose with it.

Enjoy some mingle pics of our amazing BEATZ-dancers!

Many thanks and much love to all of you!
XOXO

Beatz is back!

A quick reminder…

HipHop – Bianca
House Jam – Robert
Stretch & Flex – Åsa

If you wanna come and dance with us, then you email beatz@robertsorensen.com as usual. It’s filling up quickly – so don’t wait for someone else to take your spot.
