Heading towards EU-summit!

After two days of pure vacation (well needed I might add) and staying in a super cozy hotel in the central Rome we moved our selves out to the conference hotel a little bit more off centre where the Les Mills summit is going off starting tomorrow (tuesday) with registration and then on wednesday for real.

All the trainer managers are having lectures and meetings all day today which means that Fredrik is super busy, and I was planning on chillin by the pool, and werk my tan but after two days of amazing weather it’s grey outside today. (What’s up with that?!)

My swedish team trainers starts to arrive during the day today though, and tomorrow morning, so I’ll definitely have some company later on.
And – it’s a Sephora in the town so no worries, ha!

Since I’ve been hanging out in the US a lot the past years – I’ve been to the US summit a couple of times, and I also went for the Global Summit in NZ back in 2008 – but I’ve actually never been to a Euro Summit. So this is premiere for me.

I know a lot more of the US trainer than the Europan, obviously – so it’s gonna be exciting to see what and who this few days are bringing.

We’ll be working with the programs that we train – which obviously means that I’ll be doing BODYJAM® and BODYBALANCE® stuff all days long.

The amazing weather is supposed to come back tomorrow so I hope for some pool hang as well.

Of course we’ve done all the touristy things. 🙂

When In Rome…

16 classes, 3 cities and 11 different studios in 7 days!
With an awesome jazz finale with my just amazing crowd at HoS yesterday.

Now – it’s GOOD MORNING Rome and Italy!

We’re charging up for the European trainer summit with Les Mills with a few days to explore the city and broaden our Italy-skills.

Then it’s time to buff up, deff down, push the boobies up, get it on with the spray tan and head to the Les Mills tribe European hook up. 🙂
Or – if you think it’s a bit to tight to do all that in two days, I hope it’s fine to come just the way you are, sort of.

Like the Nike way…
I think I’ll stick with that. LOL!

Either way – I’m sure it’s gonna be an awesome time, and I’m looking forward to some fun sunny days.
(even though I must say – a weekend off in Stockholm this weekend would have been worth a lot)
Happy Happy weekend y’all!

SUMMER BEATZ!

Saturday june 9th it’s dancing time again.
BEATZ goes summer – and I’d love to see YOU there, dancing with us.

BEATZ = me & Robert, obviously, and the guest this time is non the less than Thomas Benstem.
An awesome dancer, choreographer and teacher. He is not only fierce but also humble, nice and sweet as few.
Don’t miss this opportunity to take his class (or ours, LOL)

The spots usually fills up rather fast – so sign up ASAP if you wanna come!

Morning Strezzzz!

Wondeful wonderful spring time and bright light days! Love it!

About that summer routine I posted a couple of weeks ago…
Yesterday when I came to the gym to teach my early morning class ay 6.45 am, the front desk gal had overslept.
When I came around 6.20 my entire class, along with the spinning class that’s at the same time – and a few gym visitors were standing outside on the sidewalk, waiting.

St Eriksbron that’s only a few minutes away had morning class at the same time – so I couldn’t really bring them there 🙂
But we called our manager – who called the poor sleeping lady that was supposed to open the gym at 6 am – and she threw herself into a cab.
Imagen that stress to walk up when more than 60 ppl are standing and waiting for you.
Most of them were very understanding and calm though. I’m convinced it’s the light and the summer that’s about to take off that helps a lot.
And we did the whole class (minus the twisting track) and finished right on time. No harm done!

Alive n kickin…

Since I got back home from the US – it’s been ridiculous. You know – when everything happens at the same time.
Like for example;
I needed to learn the new warm up for HoS – 4 tracks, and also the new BODYBALANCE® release as well as the new BODYJAM® along with the educational sessions for both programs.
Also, it was time to learn the new HotMOJO® release, and finally – I needed to choreograph two new street-routines and start with a new jazz.

None of these things are super hard – it just became a lot, at the same time. Which made me kind of stressed. And I’ve had to really stop myself once in a while to not be to far ahead in my mind, so I miss out the presence.

Past weekend it’s been the first rounds of quarterlies – and I did three of them in Malmö and one in Halmstad.
I’ve had the pleasure to present the new releases to an entire bunch of sweet, talented and awesome instructors in both cities.
In Halmstad something weird happened though. In the relaxation/mediation there was one instructor lying in the front that surfed on her iPhone the entire time. I could see that she was checking her facebook for example.
How about that?! I wonder how she does in her own classes..!

This week – I’ll be teaching all my classes, before I’m heading to the Les Mills European trainer summit in Rome. From there – straight to Estonia and more quarterlies, and then a fast BODYJAM®visit to Göteborg, which ends this qw round.

I hope to see you somewhere in the mingle.
XOXO

Routines for the summer!

Summer’s coming up – and with that the summer schedule!
It’s a puzzle fo shizzle, with all three different periods of the summer – and classes that are either reduced or replaced.

Since it’s kind of a week to week schedule with many classes and instructors it’s important to be super clear to avoid ‘no shows’ and cancelled classes.
At SATS cancelled classes are a pure disaster. Angry and disappointed members is one reason obviously, but it also affects the internal statistic race between the centers every month, big time.

It’s important that all the routines are followed with other words.
The other day –  the training manager at one of the clubs I’m teaching at sent out an email with a list of summer routines.
Like I said – I get that it’s important that everything runs smoothly but this… is too funny.

Morgonklass

For my english speaking readers, it basically says that early morning classes are the trickiest to solve if you get sick in the last minute OR if the front desk staff sleep in and doesn’t open up the gym on time.
But if THAT happens you (as an instructor) should take your group of participants and walk with them to another SATS club and teach the class there instead.
Cause that does not count as a cancelled class = it won’t affect the statistic in the internal race.

Is it just me – or isn’t this a super odd “routine”?! It made me smile at least.
Let’s hope it doesn’t happen!!

Summer schedule @ SATS starts monday june 11th. (w.24) and summer schedule @ House of Shapes starts monday june 4th (w. 23)

Check out my website under news for class update!

Choreo is on the schedule…

Quarterly round no 2/2012 is coming up, and as always it’s choreo-practice-time.

I feel like I’ve started a bit late – at least if I compare to my awesome co-workers.
If I know them, I’m sure they’ve already taught the classes a couple of times. But no stress! (that’s what I’ve decided)

I taught three new BB-tracks yesterday in my morning class, and I’m gonna learn the rest of it the upcoming days.
And what can I say about BB57 – I love it!! (so far)

Next week – you have four opportunities to do BODYBALANCE™57 with me;
tuesday 6.45 am SATS Hornstull
tuesday 11 am SATS Hötorget
wednesday 6.45 am SATS Fridhemsplan
friday 12.00 (noon) SATS Gärdet

And then it’s time for not only one – but two BODYBALANCE qw’s in Malmö next saturday!
Welcome to flow with me!

SUPER SATURDAY 2012!!

Yes, as you might know the registration opened up this monday for Les Mills annual super quarterly.

Super Saturday will go off september 1st.
If you don’t wanna miss it – you should register, ASAP. The spots are filling up rather quick you know.

It’s a one day Les Mills Parteey along with tribe members from all over the Nordics – and a few traveling even further away from.

I’ll be presenting – and you’ll see me on stage with this hottie…

And this superstar!

I hope to see YOU there!

Hard working crowd!!

The BODYJAM® initial training module of the weekend in Stockholm went just fine.

12 new jammers left the building yesterday with sore feet, sweaty pants, awesome attitudes and happy faces.
I told them yesterday – and I’m telling you guys today, they did an amazing job.

This round it was quite many that have never taught before – and it’s a lot to nail during three days if most things are completely new to you.  How ever – dance they had done before, and that’s the main thing.

The Jamily-crowd of may 2012:

Thanks guys for a FUN weekend – see you soon again!

US report!!

I haven’t been very frequent here during my US trip.
But first hand (to me) is to live – and experience life as it is, in real life.
And then – when I’ve got the time and inspiration I like to blog about it too.
Even more, I like to blog my personal analysis, thoughts and observations about dance & training – more than about my private life really.

US was great though, as always. (yes, I’m pro USA, fo shizzle)
It’s great for both pleasure and work, I’d say.
I’ve had the opportunity to both “just” hang out – and to work – a lot in the US.
In New York in particular but also in other parts of the country.

With Les Mills for example, I’ve been invited to present at several super quarterlies.
Like Poughkeepsie NY, Baltimore MD and both Tampa & Orlando Florida on the east coast – and Richland WA, Ogden UT and of course – the amazing and super huge super Q in Arlington TX to mention some.

A few initial trainings and promo-classes have given me even further opportunities to see more of the great country in the west.
I’m really grateful for all these moments and I truly LOVE to travel – and to see all kinds of people, cool places and different community-cultures.

Since I do travel a lot, especially in work, and not only in the US but all over the world, I want to be able to see other things than the venue or a convention center where the work is – and the hotel.
I mean, if that’s all you get to see it’s kind of sad – and it doesn’t really matter how cool or exciting the places are.

This trip I’ve really been enjoying both NYC and Miami – and I’ve loved every second of it.
In Miami I taught a master class, BODYJAM®. It became sort of a promo-class, since most people attending were brand new to BODYJAM®.

This was at a club where the Zumba master, Beto normally works out for his own.
And a couple of weekends ago he taught an outdoor zumba for 350 people. So, Zumba they did know. But that doesn’t mean that they didn’t like BODYJAM®.

Quite the opposite – they liked it.

In NYC I actually chose this time to focus only on my own training, to refill myself with inspiration and energy, and to boost myself with the best feeling in the world.
To just dance! (and shop)

I took a lot of amazing classes – mainly for people that I already knew. (there’s no time to gamble when it’s just for week, LOL)

I’ve also refilled in a lot of other ways – dates & dinners with dear friends is one of them.

After a long flight back with some more lay overs than planned I landed in Stockholm today – and tomorrow it’s time for some serious business.
Initial training module in BODYJAM® is coming up – and then my fabulous jazz class at HoS in the evening.

Enjoy your weekend people! I will!

With US Les Mills trainer, Justin at my favorite place (one of them) in NYC.

Miami!
